Soccer season is underway, and for our Lady Trojans soccer teams, that means one to two matches weekly through March. We currently have three talented girls’ soccer teams: varsity, JV A, and JV B. Last week, all three teams faced off against Bowie in respective matches.
Varsity won 2-0, scoring both goals in the second half. Ella Buie, a center-back, scored a header goal off a corner kick, and Neve Chachanashvili scored the second goal. On the Bowie side, one of their players received a red card for throwing a punch at an Anderson player. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the Bowie player was removed from the game. The Trojan defense, especially the goalkeeper, also played well, not letting a single goal get by.
JV A won 1-0, but JV B suffered a tough defeat 0-5.
This week, the three teams will take on away matches against Buda Johnson and home matches against Akins. Varsity is looking to secure a spot in the playoffs following their wins against Bowie and Austin High. Dripping Springs will be a major opponent for the Trojans, but we hope to see them pull through and continue playing.
We’re excited to see what the rest of soccer season looks like; stay tuned for more updates coming soon.
