What a night for Anderson Volleyball. After dropping the first two sets in heartbreaking fashion, the Trojans dug deep and stormed back for a dramatic reverse sweep against Bastrop, winning 3-2 in front of a fired-up crowd.
Down but Never Out
Anderson fell behind early, losing the opening set 26-28 and the second 24-26. But instead of folding, the Trojans came alive. Behind strong energy and relentless defense, they surged back with wins of 25-17 and 25-20 to force a deciding fifth set.
Brooklyn and Kate Lead the Way
Senior Brooklyn Vazquez was unstoppable, putting balls down all over the court with blocks, tips, and kills that Bastrop had no answer for. She was the spark that kept Anderson in the fight all night long. Senior Kate Leakey once again showcased her all-around game, steadying the Trojans with her leadership and clutch plays.
Defense and Serve Receive Shine
While Vazquez and Leakey stood in the spotlight, the entire Trojan squad deserves credit. The defense was rock-solid, keeping rallies alive with incredible digs and serve receive that set up scoring opportunities again and again. Piper Paige and Chloe Frizzell also had monster nights at the net, each racking up over 20 kills to keep the Trojans rolling.
Finishing Strong
When the fifth set arrived, Anderson left no doubt. The Trojans dominated 15-6, sealing one of the most memorable wins of the season.
