The Anderson Trojan Cross Country teams competed Friday in the AISD Invitational Meet at Decker Lake in Austin. It was a good opportunity to race against area school prior to the district meet in October.
The Girls Varsity Team had another great result, finishing second overall out of 16 teams. Faith Murphy against led the Trojans, finishing fourth. Caroline Telarcek had another solid race, closing in 13th place. Elizabeth Tucker and Lucy Gibson were 18th and 20th, respectively. Emily Scholtz completed the scoring in 22nd.
Andrew Saeger’s 16th place finish paced the Boys Varsity, who placed 6th overall as a team. Jett Murphy was 27th, while Sebastian Cruz, Manny Garduno and Christopher Lee closed out the scoring, finishing 49th, 50th, and 73rd respectively.
The Anderson Girls Junior Varsity grabbed a fourth place team finish, only finishing behind three Austin-area 6A schools. Camille Rackley led the squad finishing 7th, her second top-20 finish in as many weeks. Natalia Juarez, Lucy Flynn, Hope Guerra and Breylinn Snyder closed out the scoring in 28th, 31st, 44th and 59th places, respectively.
Anderson’s Boys Junior Varsity squad finished in 8th place. Scoring for the Trojans were: Sander Orman, Eli Peng, Luke Mathis, Tobin Stemple and John Hubik.
The Trojan runners will next be in action at the McNeil/HokaInvitational on September 21st at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock.
