The most recent regional coach’s rankings game out via Lethal Enforcer Soccer and Anderson has jumped all the way to 10th in the 6A region 4 rankings. This a significant jump, as Anderson wasn’t even ranked in the top 20 during the last rankings on January 1st. The Trojans’ recent hot streak has certainly been noticed, as Anderson is 4-0-1 in their last five and currently ranks second in our district behind only Dripping Springs.
A 1-1 tie (goal from Madeleine Novinger) with Johnson leaves them at 2-0-1 in district, a half-game back of the Tigers. The Trojans have succeeded on the backs of solid defense and an elite goalkeeper in Kendall Meachum, as they have allowed just two goals all season. If Anderson wants to continue to win in a tough district, they will have to keep that up.
Coming up: Anderson plays Akins this Friday at home, and the Trojans have a very good chance to move to 3-0-1 in district. Not even a quarter into district play, there’s plenty of time for Anderson to solidify itself in a playoff spot.
