Trojans Walk It Off to Advance to Regional Finals
The Anderson Trojans continue their historic playoff push, defeating Lake Creek in a thrilling 2-1 series win.
Nail-Biter Series Win Over Lake Creek
Game 1 kicked off with a defensive masterclass from the Trojans. Stellar pitching and clutch fielding kept Lake Creek in check all game. The breakthrough came in the sixth inning, when Leo Treviño drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI single, sealing a 2–1 victory and setting the tone for the series.
Game 2 on Friday didn’t go as planned. The Trojans fell 4–2 in a tough outing filled with defensive errors and missed opportunities. It was a wake-up call that reminded the squad how difficult playoff baseball can be.
With the season on the line, Anderson entered Saturday’s Game 3 ready to respond. It quickly turned into a tense, low-scoring battle. Anderson struck first, but Lake Creek answered back to even the score. Despite multiple bases-loaded threats from Lake Creek, junior pitcher Cade Cazin remained poised, escaping jam after jam with lockdown pitching.
The game came down to the bottom of the final inning. With the bases loaded and pressure mounting, senior Judaya Coulson—committed to Huston-Tillotson—stepped up and delivered the moment of the season: a walk-off RBI single to win the game and the series. The dugout erupted, and history was made.
Next Up: Barbers Hill
Now, the Trojans prepare for a clash with powerhouse Barbers Hill in the regional finals. Game 1 will be played Thursday in Weimar, and Game 2 on Saturday in Waller, with a third game if needed. Defense, execution, and bringing the best nine to the field will be key against one of the top teams in the state.
This Anderson team is playing with heart, grit, and belief. Every week they’re rewriting history—and the next chapter is already in motion. Come out and support your Trojans as they continue their unforgettable run toward the state title.
