Historic Run for the Trojans Anderson

Historic Run for the Trojans Anderson Becomes First AISD Team to Reach Regional Semifinals Since 2002

The Anderson Trojans have made history, becoming the first Austin ISD baseball team to reach the regional semifinals since 2002. With resilience, elite pitching, and timely offense, this squad continues to show why they’re one of the most dangerous teams in the state.

Weather Delays Can’t Stop the Trojans

Two weeks ago, Anderson kicked off their playoff run against East View in a wild, weather-delayed series. Thursday’s opener was cut short after just three innings due to storms. Friday brought three more innings before another weather stoppage—this time with just one out before the game was officially called. The Trojans stayed locked in through the delays, returning on Saturday to finish the job. A late offensive push helped secure a 6–2 win in Game 1, and in Game 2, Anderson left no doubt who the better team was, powering to a dominant 12–5 victory to close out the series.

Statement Win Over State-Ranked Victoria East

Feeling confident, Anderson rolled into last week’s matchup against one of the top 5A teams in Texas: Victoria East. Thursday night’s Game 1 was at home, and the Trojan fanbase showed up big. With electric energy in the stands and sharp execution on the field, Anderson took down Victoria East 7–2 behind stellar pitching from the “Hilltopper Duo” of Ben Waisman and Owen Thomas.

Game 2 shifted to Victoria East’s home turf, but the Trojans didn’t flinch. They jumped out to a 3–0 lead in the first two innings, putting immediate pressure on the home team. Victoria East began to rally, but starter Darek Paiz held them to just two runs. With the season on the line, junior Cade Cazin came in to close. Facing runners on base in both the sixth and seventh innings, Cazin stayed calm under pressure and sealed the 3–2 win—punching Anderson’s ticket to the regional semifinals.

Next Stop: Lake Creek

Now the Trojans head to Mumford, Texas, to face powerhouse Lake Creek in a best-of-three regional semifinal series starting Thursday. With momentum, confidence, and a tight-knit roster that’s making history, Anderson has shown they can beat anyone. This team is special—and with each win, they’re getting one step closer to a shot at state.

Come out and support as the Trojans continue their historic run!
