Reflecting on a Great Win, and Setting the Stage for What’s Next for Anderson Girls Lacrosse

The Anderson High School girls’ lacrosse team is proving once again why they’re a force to be reckoned with on the field. After a triumphant victory in the Division 2 state championship in 2022 against Rockwall, followed by a commendable run in Division 1 state in 2023, the Trojans are back in action, showcasing their skills in the 2024 season.

On Wednesday night, in their game against Dripping Springs, the Trojans exhibited an impressive demonstration of their prowess, clinching a 20-3 victory. From the opening whistle to the final buzzer, Anderson’s players showcased not only their individual talents but also their cohesion as a team. Their relentless offensive pressure and pressing defense kept Dripping Springs at bay for the majority of the game, reflecting the Trojans’ determination to dominate the field.

The Trojans’ near shutout until the beginning of the fourth quarter, which highlights their defensive players. While Dripping Springs managed to break through Anderson’s defenses momentarily, it was but a minor hiccup in an otherwise great performance by the Trojans. This display of defensive tenacity further solidified Anderson’s reputation as a dominant force in high school lacrosse, instilling confidence in their ability to face their schedule ahead.

Katie Rich, a crucial player on defense for the Trojans, expressed her enthusiasm for the remainder of the season, stating,

“(THE GAME WAS A) Great start to the second half of the season and I AM very excited for what lies ahead.”

With such a promising outlook, the Trojans are gearing up for tougher challenges in the coming weeks.

The schedule ahead presents tough opponents for Anderson, including matchups against powerhouse teams like The Woodlands, Westlake, and St. Michaels. These games are sure to test the Trojans’ strengths, providing an opportunity for them to showcase their skills against strong Texas lacrosse competition.

In their recent victory over Dripping Springs, several key players stood out with remarkable performances. Laney Owens contributed two goals and seven points, while Chloe Page showcased her scoring prowess with an impressive six goals and eight points. Additionally, Harper Jones made her mark on the game with three goals and four points, further solidifying Anderson’s win.

As the season progresses, Anderson High School’s girls’ lacrosse team remains focused and determined to continue their winning streak. With a blend of talent, teamwork, and dedication, they are poised to continue making their mark in the realm of girls’ high school lacrosse once again. Fans just like me, eagerly await their upcoming games, hopeful for more victories from our Lady Trojans.
