Roundtable Predictions: Anderson Football @ Rouse

Jack: The Raiders should be a bigger test for the Trojans than McCallum was last week, but I still expect Anderson to come out on top. Last year, the Trojans had over 400 yards of total offense and won by 3 scores. I think Brady Gephart will pick up right where Fred Dale left off and throw for 200 yards and multiple scores with help from receivers Ed Small, Ben Hatcher, and Tristan Waidelich. The defense will take advantage of Rouse’s young quarterback, and Jack Middleton will have another big game on the D-line. The Trojans win this one by a good amount. Anderson 35, Rouse 17

Sebastian: Tonight, Anderson will take a step up in competition when they suit up to play the Rouse Raiders. Although Rouse just came off a 34-10 loss against Lake Belton, they will be a bigger challenge than McCallum. Their loss last week came against a stacked Lake Belton team featuring 5-star and top 10 player in the country, Micah Hudson, and 4-star top 75 player, Selman Bridges. Not only will Rouse be looking to get their season back on track, but they will be seeking revenge. Last year, Anderson handed Rouse a 35-13 loss, torching the Raider defense for almost 400 passing yards. I think this year, the Trojan air attack will decide the game again, with Junior Ed Small going for well over 100 receiving yards and Brady Gephart throwing for over 250 yards. Although I don’t think the Trojan defense has another shutout in them, I think they will be successful in slowing down the Raider defense enough for Anderson to come out with their second win of the season. Maren: After a 42-0 shutout last Thursday versus Mac, Anderson’s confidence should be high going into tonight’s game. Last season, the Trojans overtook Rouse by a 22-point margin, and there is no doubt the Raiders will want to even the score. Despite this, I predict Anderson will end up winning by at least two touchdowns based on last week’s performance by the wide receivers and defensive line. Both quarterbacks also proved they are capable of getting out of tight situations, which should challenge the Rouse defense. The true test for the Trojans will be keeping the momentum and energy up throughout the entire game to hold off the Raiders. Anderson 34, Rouse 14

Carly: On this night last year (except it was a Thursday), Anderson took on the Rouse Raiders and came out with a win, 35-13. With last week in mind and the Trojans shutout of McCallum, the stakes are high, along with the energy and confidence of the players. I predict that Anderson will win yet again. We won this game last year, and even though our team has shifted quite a bit, I firmly believe that Anderson will come out on top. Anderson 28, Rouse 14

Blake: After coming off a dominant performance against McCallum last week, Anderson looks to do the same against Rouse. I think that the connection of Brady Gephart to Ed Small will continue to show, along with production from other weapons like Ben Hatcher, and Zayden Sharp, I believe that this will be too much for the Raiders’ defense, and the Trojans have another successful night on offense. As for the defense, I also expect them to carry over their great performance from last week. This will include a big night from Jack Middleton upfront, as I believe he will be able to have double-digit tackles. With all this being said, I think the Trojans will win big. Anderson 35, Rouse 10

Trey: Coming off of an astounding win against McCallum at Burger Stadium, the Trojans find themselves facing a tougher opponent. Senior DE Nico Foster had 9 tackles, 6 solo, and a FF, while senior WR Keller Rogers had 79 yards on 4 receptions against Lake Belton last week. If the Trojans can shut down these weapons, I believe they can hold on for the win. I expect a large passing approach, similar to last year’s win. Additionally, I expect Gephart and Small to connect for a touchdown through the air. Finally, if Middleton is able to burst through the offensive line like last week, he’s going to have an incredible game. The biggest problem the Trojans face will be keeping their foot on the gas, and not handing the game away towards the end. If they can hold on and keep applying pressure, they’ll win handily. Anderson 24, Rouse 17
