Parker Duncan has been playing volleyball since she was just 10 years old. Her first inspiration was from her mom playing at The University of Texas. Parker grew up with her mom talking about how much she loved the sport growing up, and with that, she decided to give it a shot!
The University of Arkansas has been Duncan’s top school since she started the recruiting process so it was beyond exciting when they reached out to her on June 15th! The school was exactly what she was looking for. The campus, student life, and location were all perfect. As soon as she arrived on campus she knew that it could be a great place for her to grow as a player along with having an awesome college experience. Parker says, “The coaches, their vision, the SEC, and culture all were the right fit for me. And I can’t wait to be a part of what they have built there.”
She is thrilled and eager to get to Fayetteville and can’t wait to meet all of her new teammates and coaches, as well as excited to compete with some of the best in the SEC and the entire country. Arkansas finished last season ranked 25th in the nation.
Throughout the recruiting process, a number of people have been there for Parker. Her parents were always her biggest supporters and only wanted what was best for her, and her AJV (Austin Junior Volleyball) family and recruiting coordinator Colby Arrington had a tremendous impact on her as well. They all contributed and helped her navigate through the process and supported her through everything and she is extremely grateful for that.
Duncan has a lot in store for this season! Her goal for this upcoming season is to make the playoffs, as the Trojans came super close last year, falling just short. Parker added that Anderson’s team chemistry is great this year and she cannot wait to see what this season brings.
