Four Anderson baseball players were named to the VAR-ATX watchlist. Out of eleven catchers in the Austin area, senior Sheppard Tyler was named to the catcher watchlist by VAR. Interestingly, Tyler mostly plays pitcher for the Trojans yet he still made the catcher watchlist. Senior Karsten Fidler was among only ten middle-infielders named. Sophomore Ed Small was named to the outfielder watchlist, and sophomore Gus Begert was also named a player to watch.
No other team had more players named to the watchlist than Anderson. Hutto and Vista Ridge had three players, and a few other schools had two, such as Westlake and Dripping Springs, but Anderson was the only team with four of their players named to the list.
Anderson clearly has a lot of talent this year and has an amazing shot at doing well. Come watch and support the Trojans in their first game on 2/23 at Pflugerville.
