Earlier today, at the 2024 LC Anderson Athletic Awards & Hall of Honor Ceremony, Maisy Groos and Brady Gephart were awarded the GoTrojansGo scholarship for this year’s graduating class. Each recipient is incredibly deserving and won this award not because of their excellent athletic achievements, but because of their character, and the way they exemplify that character both on and off the field. We’re still tallying the final money from our spirit nights, but this year we raised an estimated $3,000 which will net each recipient $1,500.
Maisy Groos has dreamed of being a Trojan Belle since her days at Doss Elementary. After serving as a junior lieutenant last year, she was named Belles’ captain for her senior year. She puts in countless hours, works tirelessly, and does it all with a smile, as those around her herald her incredible attitude and leadership skills. She’s not only an excellent dancer but an even better teammate and person. Her hard work in the classroom, the dance gym, and everywhere else in her life truly shows her exceptional character and makes her extremely deserving of this year’s scholarship.
Likewise, Brady Gephart has been a Trojan for as long as anyone can remember. Starting in Pop Warner football, Brady has always excelled on the field, and that success continued into high school, as he was a 3-year letter winner for Trojan football. He played a variety of positions for Anderson, but as a senior starred under center, quarterbacking the Trojan offense. Gephart was the team’s offensive MVP, second-team all-district, and threw for over 2000 yards, leading 26-6A. All of this aside, Brady excelled in the classroom, earning academic all-state, and was a fantastic leader. The way he carried himself and treated everyone regardless of their role makes him the perfect choice for the other half of this year’s scholarship.
